Pininfarina Battista: the world’s first pure electric hyper GT

Fast facts first – literally the facts about going seriously fast… Battista broke a series of world records in its final round of approvals for road registration:

• 0-60mph in 1.79s – A world record for a production car
• 0-100km/h in 1.86s – A world record for a production car
• 0-120mph in 4.49s – A world record for a production car
• 0-200km/h in 4.75s – A world record for a production car
• 100-0km/h in 31 metres – A world record for an electric car
• Range of 300 miles (combined EPA) – A world record for an electric hypercar

Yep, it’s twice as fast as most fast cars.

Five drive modes Calma, Pura, Energica, Furiosa and Carattere and intelligent four-wheel torque vectoring contributes to effortless performance in all conditions and combines with low centre of gravity and advanced software differential for superior traction.

And everything is cool about the Batista, including the concierge-style luxury experience of visiting the design team in Cambiano to create your uniquely tailored, completely bespoke Battista hyper GT. A car that will be one of just 150 hand-finished dreams.

Flowing lines and simple, exquisite detailing define the Battista’s exterior, with one line encircling the car, while another connects the pillar to the shape of the sculptural doors that sweep back to the carbon fibre bridge at the rear. A subtle accent line around the car enhances the iconic Pininfarina teardrop cabin, forming an emotive, perfectly balanced overall design. 

The Battista Anniversario takes exclusivity to the next level. Fitted with the Furiosa Carbon Accent Pack, the Anniversario features a bespoke heritage-inspired livery, including a unique combination of Bianco Sestriere, Grigio Antonelliano and signature Iconica Blu, with carbon detailing finished with the exclusive Iconica Blu thread, complemented by white pinstripe around the vehicle. Signature Pininfarina logos, bespoke engraving and a black interior theme with black and Iconica Blu stitching complete the look.

Worry not that there is no local Battista service agent!

Once a client takes delivery of their bespoke Battista, retail partners also benefit from the back-up of Automobili Pininfarina’s ‘flying doctor’, a dedicated expert on all things Battista who is on hand to provide support to retail partners and clients. He can fly anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice for one-to-one support that cannot be administered either using Over-The-Air software updates or via a visit to a retail partner.

A few more fun facts about the Battista:

• It’s not just a hyper GT – everything is hyper, like the fact that the design engineers calculated that there are 128 million potential interior combinations.
• The intelligent deployable rear wing extends automatically at high speeds and can generate up to 250kg of downforce. It also operates as an aerobrake when slowing from high speeds, helping to stabilise the vehicle and support the traditional friction, and advanced regenerative, braking systems.
• The sustainable leather interior elements are tanned with olive leaves.

The Battista is the first car to exclusively wear the Pininfarina badge, but it is the latest in a long line of elegant, beautifully proportioned vehicles stretching back over 91 years. Some of the most valuable cars ever designed were penned by Pininfarina, ranging from masterpieces like the classic Cisitalia 202 to modern icons including the Ferrari F40.
