The MG4 EV hatchback will be available in three specs with varying trim levels and range capability.
The base model Excite will deliver 64 kWh and a useable range of 435 km (WLTP). The Essence (Long Range) tops the capacity at 77 kWh for a decent 530 km (WLTP) road trip.
MG’s first fully-electric hatchback is the first to use the innovativenew Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) that will underpin a new generation of MGs, featuring rear-wheel drive, 50:50 weight distribution and thin battery technology.
This advanced platform offers drivers superb roadholding and engagement.
The battery design and placement delivers 50:50 weight distribution and a low centre of gravity, alongside rear-wheel drive configuration.
The MSP is designed to maximise both battery efficiency and interior/storage space.
Currently, there are two choices of two battery options – 64kWh (Standard Range) and 77kWh (Long Range) with 51kWh and X-Power dualmotor AWD variant under consideration to join the rest of the range closer to launch in the second half of 2023.
The 64kWh Excite and Essence battery is capable of charging at up to 140kW, with a charge time of only 28 minutes from 10% – 80% (150kW DC rapid charger).
MG Pilot advanced driver assistance is standard on both the 64kWh and 77kWh Essence, with Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Door Opening Warning.
iSMART system integrates car, internet, and user communication, now with voice activation and remote control features on Essence models.
The MSP design creates exceptional hatchback storage, cabin and boot space: 1,177L with seats folded and 363L with seats in place.
The MG4 EV’s simple, elegant interior combines minimalist design with hi-tech integration and functionality. You can choose black fabric upholstery (Excite) or synthetic leather interiortrim with contrasting cloth inserts (Essence)
MG iSMART connected car features as standard, with voice capabilities on Essence models. It has integrated, interacting dual screen technology with configurable 7”driver display and 10.25″ floating infotainment screen to control a 4-speaker audio system with Apple CarPlay(r); and Android Auto(r); as standard, with upgraded 6-speaker 3D system on Essence models.
Essence models gain satellite navigation, 360 degree parking cameras, height adjustable loading floor, wireless phone charging, Bluetooth and auto-dimming rear view mirror.
Manufactured using highly advanced laser welding technology and with a new, modern, striking design language, the MG4 EV has sophisticated aerodynamics and distinctive style including a twin aero rear spoiler and all new LED rear light design and either 17″ (Excite) or 18″ (Essence) aerodynamic alloy wheels with aero covers. Essence models feature a black roof and distinctive rear centre light bar constellation design. Choose from:
